Payne - Andrew Britton

Andrew Britton Payne, better known as Brit Payne, died in Culver hospital on Monday evening after a long illness. He was born in Salem, October 15 1864. He married Elizabeth Farabee, who survives him, as do four children: Erwin Payne who lives north of town, Mrs. Herman Gilkey and Mrs. Breaks Quillen of Crawfordsville, and Mrs. Harold Johnson of Browns Valley. Mr. Payne lived for a number of years on the Milligan Bros. farm north of Waveland, and later moved to Browns Valley. Funeral services were held at the Browns Valley Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon. Transcribed by Diane Killion, May 30, 2002
